  26. You appear to be talking about a conventional cellular modem, which connects
  27. to an external cellular phone.  The claim made by Scott Stratmoen is that
  28. there is a new product which contains the cellular phone circuitry *in* the
  29. PCMCIA form factor.  Did I misunderstand you?  Are you also talking about a
  30. PCMCIA card which contains the cellular transmitter/receiver itself?

  34. Cellular modems are a dime a dozen, but their only claim to fame is that they
  35. have builtin error correcting protocols suitable for cellular.  They don't
  36. have the cellular transmitter/receiver in them.  I have never heard of a
  37. cellular trasmitter/receiver being squeezed into a PCMCIA form factor.
